    Decent pub with good food.

Service can vary between staff members.

Can book raised areas for free for parties.

Usually have a really good DJ of a bank holiday.

You're pretty starved for pub options in Upminster, which means The Crumpled Horn is almost always packed full of people in the evenings. It's loud, hot, cramped and expensive. On the plus side, they have a couple decent lagers available, and they have an OK pub quiz. There's a smoking area out the front in the street (so it's easy to spot on the high street). People are generally friendly, but it's definitely not my kind of pub. You could do worse I guess.

In a good location along Corbets Tey, opposite the park, this pub has potential. A nice old fashioned facade and clean inside make this a nice place to drink during the early eve or weeknights. It's on weekends that this place goes downhill.

Young, chavy, mockney-middle class yuppies have made this their haunt during the evenings. Pink polo shirts and boot cut jeans with bad footballer haircuts mince around between the suits, talking about football and shouting at each other. The toilets are normally busy with essex boys doing coke and the bar is even busier.

Such a shame as the selection of beers on offer here is great and so is the price. The food is good for the money and the atmosphere during the weekdays is relaxed. If you are visiting Upminster, avoid this pub on weekends but otherwise try the cask ales and decent wine selection during the week.

Great pub to have a social gathering with all of your friends! Think its over 21's at weekends not sure though so check before heading down there if your under 21!! Average prices for most drinks, never had a bad experiance in her with fights or any of the staff!! Right on the hight street so if you come out very drunk and feeling hungry have a few resturants or fast food places you can grab something to eat!

Nice homely feel to this pub. Staff are very strict on age policy to the point that my 30 year old friend was ID'd 4 times in one night!! There is a comfortable sized seating area out the front & the pub hosts theme nights from time to time. There is also a weekly pub quiz which is a lot of fun. The pub serves food, however, I think it is preprepared at a different location and microwaved in the kitchen. This is the reason for the 3 stars, the food unfortunately lets it down
